April 2014 National Geographic Magazine - Digging Utah's Dinosaurs featuring our 2013 Festival Key Note Speaker Dr. Joseph Sertich.
Located in the high desert of scenic Southern Utah, Big Water is bordered by Lake Powell, the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument and the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. Situated on Highway 89, 60 miles east of Kanab, UT, and 20 miles west of Page, AZ and Lake Powell. The Dinosaur Festival will be surrounding the Big Water Town Hall and Fire Station at 60 Aaron Burr, just off Hwy 89 on October 4th, 5th, and 6th.
The Big Water Dinosaur Festival is celebrating the many past and ongoing dinosaur fossil discoveries in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument and other areas surrounding Big Water, UT. The festival will have arts, crafts, food, and entertainment. There will be tons of kids’ activities, including the BLM Dinosaur Murder Mystery, dinosaur drawing and coloring contests, lots of dinosaur games and activities and “Funtime Inflatables” with a bounce house, giant slide, etc. There will be evening music and entertainment and a Dinosaur cake contest.
November 7, 2013: A new dinosaur from our back yard in the Grand Staircase Monument makes the news! Video features Dr. Alan Titus and Dr. Joe Sertich, both of whom volunteered to help make our 2013 Dinosaur Festival a huge hit!

Thank you to the Big Water Dinosaur Festival Committee, Volunteers and Doners who all worked to make the our first year a huge success. The committee consisting of Jennie Lassen, Heather Rankin, Deborah Short, Naomi Short Lynn, and Jennie Johnson are hard at work on the 2014 festival.
